Name: Steve Swartz
Age: If I told you, I'd have to kill you.
Place of Residence: Florida...might be moving to NH soon, though. Hopefully.
Faux DC Project: (former) Batman, World's Finest Comics
Faux DC Ambition: To write better stories than I have been
Real World Ambition: To be a computer technician
Favorite DC Character: Golden Age characters (pretty much all of them), Batman, Robin, Green Arrow, Superman, too many to list here
Favorite Mid-Afternoon Snack: Vegetable Thins and Coca-Cola or Milk.
My Origin in 20 words or less: It was a stormy night. The wind was howling, shaking the tree branches with its fury. The branches scraped against the windows, causing a chill to rise up my back. (Oh yes, I was born on July 14th.)
Influences on my Faux DC work will be: Jerry Siegel and Edgar Rice Burroughs for their incredible, impeccable storytelling skills.
I hate the way John Byrne has handled Superman because in my opinion, he took away the magic, the being, the soul out of Superman. The origin was fine the way it was! Jeez! (Oh yeah, now he's screwing things up at Marvel! So much for the Hulk and Spider-Man!) Oh yeah, and the Power of Shazam! guys (Captain Marvel Jr. named CM2? Come on!)
The first DC comic I read when I get home is: Either Batman, Robin, Detective Comics, Green Arrow, Green Lantern, whatever's out that week.
And when I'm reading that comic(s) I listen to: Punk, like Operation Ivy (Yay!), Rancid (Double Yay!), cetera.
And when I ain't writin' or readin' comics, I: Usually practice my drums, skateboard, and listen to Punk (the last two at the same time).
But all of this is irrelevant 'cos: I write a lot better than I show for some reason. Oh, and I was born.
